It was just announced in a filing that AT&T is shutting down their 3G network in early 2022. This was announced very soon after Verizon explained that they would be shutting down their 3G networks at the end of 2019. They both explained that they will no longer activate 3G cell phones as well.
In all honesty, it was not surprising to us that this change is soon coming around the corner. With these companies, like Verizon and AT&T, investing millions and millions of dollars to cover the country with 4G services, it was becoming obvious that 3G service was coming to an end. Technology is constantly changing, and the world is continuously evolving with it. This is why it is our job to keep up to date with technology.
